The Hawaiian coast is beautiful in the afternoon. The crystal blue waves slowly turn dark and fade into a stunning sunset of pink, purple and yellow. My blonde hair bounces around my face and I walk along the shore, holding my sandals. The wind blows my dress behind me, making my blond curls dance lightly. A loud splashing sound makes me turn to the sea. A dark haired boy is flouncing around in the water, his arms waving around. He’s drowning.
I don’t think twice as I put down my

5 years agoSandals and dive into the water. I tread the rapid waves to get the boy. Once I reach him, I can no longer feel the sandy bottom. I pull his arms over my neck, and try swim back to shore, not caring if my now flat hair is smithing my face. The boy is gasping, thanking me. We get back to the shore, and collapse onto the sand, gasping for air.
I turned to him. He had jet black hair, and strangely, his eyes were a bright crystal blue.
They turn to me, and the boy asked,
“What is your name?”

The boy smiled.
“Jake,” he said. “Thank you for saving me back there. I went for a quick surf, but I lost track of time, and the waves became really big.”
I smiled.
“It’s no biggie, the Hawaiian seas can be rough at this time.”
As we lie there in the sand dunes of the Hawaiian beach, I learnt a lot about him. When it was time to go, I was sad to see his back walk away. But over his shoulder, he looked back and blew me a kiss. I caught it and

Backstory: she’s a bright bubbly girl with so many hopes and dreams. She is loved by everyone but goes through depression and does very well to hide it. Most days she spends dancing or out by the water where she’s by herself and there’s just no telling how far she’ll go

5 years agoThe school prom. As much as I love anything Hawaii, I really didn’t want to go to this Hawaiian themed prom. Running my brush through my blond curls, I looked at my self in my wall mirror. I flashed back to my memories.
“Sweetie, think about it. Your friend Cassie will be there. Not to mention that you’ll be getting a free ride from your older brother, because he’s going to work.” Mum was trying to get me into going to the prom. I really didn’t want to go. The last party of dance I went to

5 years agoEnded in humiliation. I ended with a black eye, a ruined dress and my reputation tarnished.
“Besides, Alisa,” Mum continues, “your father and I want a bit of time to ourselves, and go on a proper date night for the first time in years. And take this opportunity to find someone new. Your 15, maybe it’s time to get a boyfriend. “
I blush at her last statement. It’s true that she and Dad hasn’t had time to themselves in a long time. I felt guilty, so I finally agree to go.

5 years agoNow I’m at the prom. There are a few Tiki carvings around the hall, and a long table full of little fruits, snacks and a punch bowl. I walk around, trying to find Cassie, my bestie. She got asked by one of the jocks, and wanted me to come too. I sighed. It’s not that fun when you’re a single Pringle. And there are couples all around you. After 5 minutes, I had 0 luck finding Cassie. So being the hormonal and forever hungry teen I am, I went to the food table. After getting myself a cup of punch,

5 years agoI turned around and smashed into somebody’s hard chest. I look up to see Austin, one of the jocks, smiling, covered in red punch. I gasp, and start hunting around for the napkins, apologising. When I finally spot the napkins, I grabbed a few at the same time as Austin. We both apologise awkwardly. I blushed and looked down. I started mopping up the punch on his shirt. He grabs my hand.
“Hey, it’s ok,” he says, “let me do it.”
