He didn’t love me, the way I loved him. I had lived and loved longer and understood that it was more than just desire, stolen kisses, pretty words and fanciful daydreams. It was a mutual commitment to be better and stronger together. At his age, he couldn’t see it. I did not blame him - he would come to understand when he was ready.

4 years agoI still yearned for him; still ached to be with him. Yet, I would not compromise myself and the meaning of love so I would not be without him. I could stand on my own - I had proven it. I am worthy of great love.

4 years agoSo my tears fall now, unashamedly, but not regrettably. It is better to feel deeply, than to covet the unattainable and still feel alone. The more I say it, the more I’ll mean it. You will not see my tears; only my smiles. Love is not guilt. Love is better than that. I strive for the truth; even the romantic dreamer that I am cannot compromise the dream. I am worthy of great love. And, so are you.
