@tcrain 🇺🇸🇲🇹 We ARE very proud of him, our only. He struggled so as a youngster with Asperger’s, which is on the Austism spectrum. Einstein had it. Gentry is brilliant also but struggled socially as a little boy, and that is why he didn’t do sleepovers, he just didn’t have any friends. But that has changed. You can scroll way down to the full color pic I imported of his last Drum Corps International performance to see his amazing visual still shot with Meghan, in their show Hell Hath No Fury

@tcrain 🇺🇸🇲🇹 Regarding our house fires, t......the first was sickening. I mean it burned to the ground, beautiful two story home filled with family antiques stretching back 150 years. I live on a family ranch still owned by the homesteader, a Baron from Germany, Wilhelm Sattler, an immigrant from Germany, my son’s great great great great grandfather. He is buried here. So all those family treasures were lost. I honestly felt something warm and wonderful descend upon me in the days following....

@tcrain 🇺🇸🇲🇹 ...we had our lives! We had our son. I did lose my dog in the fire, brutally difficult. I cannot fully describe watching it burn for 6 hours while the FD chopped away to keep the forest from catching fire. But it was sink or swim, we are not sinkers in our family! Two brothers also live here on the ranch, we have rental cabins along the Guadalupe River, so we moved into one of those and then a house for 14 months while we rebuilt.

@tcrain 🇺🇸🇲🇹 Second fire: I could not believe it. Our attic was ablaze when it broke out while we were still in bed. Electrical also but was concluded that the electrical wire itself was faulty, from manufacturing...lucky us! *not*. So I lost no personal items whatsoever and again we had tremendously great insurance...as in they covered us 100%!!! We were displaced from last August until January this year. I learned I am not attached to material things anymore, at all!! So......

@tcrain 🇺🇸🇲🇹 ....one has no choice but to move forward, any other option is not acceptable. We were luckier than most is all I can say, I do not regret going through either of those times, but still wish they had not occurred. I probably have a different slant on life now after the universe’s two attempts to snuff mine out! All is good now. I rarely think about either event. End of story, lol.

@neatfreak 🇨🇦 I love Hibiscus too. The blooms are short lived indeed, thankfully there are usually many of them! In San Antonio the blooms can get as big as your head, not even kidding! While I generally have a green thumb with tropicals , I can’t grow a Hibiscus worth a ding dang. I gave up after several attempts, lol. Thank you for liking my picture, dear friend! ❤️❤️❤️

Hello Brenavere...first, thanks for your backstory! omg...that first fire! How heartbreaking...not only to lose your home/dog.. but 150 years of memories and history! I am so sorry! So you rebuilt on the same property after the first fire?....then another fire in that home.......but back in the same house after being displaced??? But yes....it would seem the universe was tring to snuff you out!...how iroic for fire to happen twice!! I am just happy to hear you powered through it all......

and that your attitude towards what you went through is possitive as, wow, yes, so much worse could have happened!! That is the attitide I take in life too...when I feel down...I say...it could be worse and thank my lucky stars!

@ tcrain 🇺🇸🇲🇹 actually, the first fire happened in 2006 and burnt that house all the way to the ground. We rebuilt, OUT of the woods, a nice Mediterranean stucco home and that one caught fire last year with only $100,000 worth of damage. 5 months later we were back in.
