we had quite the interesting day yesterday! i had a cold, but throughout the day i was only getting worse. i had a high fever, a bad headache, i was shivering, and i was feeling out of it/confused. after spending hours at the ER/hospital, the doctors concluded that i had viral meningitis. meningitis is an infection that affects the delicate membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. there are multiple forms of this, and i was lucky enough to have the kind that barely ever ends in death. the treatment for me is lots of rest and lots of liquids, as well as taking over the counter medication for the pain. it will go away on its own, but 97% of people that get meningitis have a long term affect after they’re better. we are not 100% sure what it’s going to be. im hoping that i will be one of the lucky 3% that don’t get any affects! this has been hard for us, but im so thankful that it’s not as bad as it could’ve been. we’re going to get through this☺️
