4 years ago@MittaGal Barb now you know your birds! I knew it was a Hyacinth macaw when I was coloring it. My parents had aviaries for years and years. I raised cockatiels for a long time. I must say that birds are my favorite over other pets.

4 years ago@LauriZ ✌🏻☮️👩🏻🌾 Until I got sick and put in the nursing home, I’ve always had birds, too. Cockatiels, the oldest of which I had for 26 years, parakeets, Nanday Conures, Umbrella cockatoo and RoscoeRose, my blue and gold macaw whom I miss and cry daily. She went to abird rescue where a breeding male Hyacinth with one leg was sick because his mate died. He fell in love with RoscoeRose, and since she had an oviductectomy and could not lay eggs, they were put together. It worked out well.

4 years ago@MittaGal Barb awwwww....that tugs at my heartstrings. My sister was in a nursing home in Southern California and they had an aviary out on the patio area. Cocktails, parakeets and a gorgeous African Grey parrot that was adopted by the staff. They were loud and fun! My female cockatiel lived an amazing 36 years. I don’t have birds right now and I miss them.
