@Sponge_32 it was one of the scariest timss we have been through with him he has had many different types of surgery a central line sinus but the chiari was the worst ! He is my angel I am honored to be his mom .thank you so very much for your support , I hope your husband is doing well and I will pray for his health thank you sweet lady hugs n love ❀️

@Sponge_32 my son had a chiari decompression done in 07 he had a syrinx the Cfs fluid from the over sized tonsillar built from half way down his spine it was so large they could hardly see his spine anymore .he would just fall down some days he couldn't stand he was paralyzed .the surgery saved his life he almost died from it and almost had a heart attack in icu he was kept in icu for 4 days the surgion saved his life .he was only 6 at the time

Your son had a Chiari Malformation? My husband had brain surgery for Chiari 1 Malformation. He almost died. In ICU for 3 days. Horrible! Did your son have surgery?

@Sponge_32 it was scary I feel for your husband :( knock on wood the cfs fluid hasn't built back up but he doesn't have the a part of the bone that protects your brain and they removed a very large amount from his cerebellum you cerebellum should only be 6mm my sons was 13mm when they did his surgery

Absolutely we do! Thank you! My husband has part of his skull gone to make room but didn't have any of his brain removed. But they said the spinal fluid was so built up that it squirt across the room when they opened him up. Yuck! And so scary! If you ever need anything, give me a shout as well!

@Sponge_32 medical terms I learned was going to go to med school ,my son still suffers horrible migraines but he takes meds daily to help provent them he has had migraines last for 4 days at a time morphine was the help for it he will throw up for days with his migraines .my son has multiple serious health issues have to stay on top of everything or it can get bad really fast ..in icu throw up for 4 days no soild food at all no liquids everything was iv the rn over dosed him on morphine

You're welcome. Yeah, Mick's (my husband) Chiari was the scariest of all 10 surgeries he's had. And he asked us to let him die when he was in ICU. That was horrible. Sometimes he gets spinal fluid built up in there and the headaches again, but so far they've been able to make it better with some kind of shot. I don't know all the medial terms like you do. :) Thanks for your prayers, love and support too!

@Sponge_32 0MG that's scary thankfully our surgion didn't tell us that .but he did remove part of my sons cerebellum and knock on wood he has not had the fluid build back up or the cerebellum grow back he still gets checked cause tumors can grow in the space they made ..thank you sweet lady I will !!! πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜
